Math Tutoring

Private Tutor

We don't just tutor students, we empower them because we know that success isn't just a matter of having the mental skills but it's also a question of the confidence and composure required to showcase those skills in the exam hall. A tutor will tend to the needs of your children more closely than a classroom teacher, no matter how good, ever can. Your child won't be competing for attention with others, and won't be sidelined if they don't fit to the work model of a school. Math tutoring can unlock your child's ability not only to do math but to see their own potential and realize it. There are so many kids out there who think they're just not good at math. We're here to prove them wrong and help them see how math doesn't have to be a headache.

Personal Attention

One of the key bonuses of tutoring rather than regular classroom teaching is that each student really is an individual and the focus of the tutor is on that one individual they are working with. Which means that things that are often overlooked at schools can be identified and dealt with.  Yes there are individuals who struggle with math but in our experience that is often linked to difficulties with work approach, with attitude, with attention, or with the pace of group teaching (which can be either too fast or too slow depending on the child). We assess the individual's ability and work in way that suits them best to get the results we all want.

Tailored Curriculum

If the end goal is to get grades and pass tests you might think that the curriculum is already set, and to a certain extent that is true. But there are many ways to arrive at a goal and we may find teaching methods that work better with some people than with others to arrive at the same level of performance on testing day. Talk to us about your child's needs and we'll explain the tailored courses we can offer.

Simple or Complex

The word 'math' covers a lot of things. If your kids are struggling with simple math skills then they need personal attention to stop them getting discouraged and to get over the hurdle. If they are having difficulty with more complex problems then they need the time that a personal tutor brings. And if they are way ahead of the pack and losing interest because normal math class is too slow then they need stimulation and challenge. We've got them all covered.

Leave it to the Pros

A lot of parents feel that somehow they should be able to impart their own math skills to their kids. Others feel awkward because they think somehow their relative weakness in math is part of the problem. Neither is true. As adults we have lost a lot of the math skills needed at school because unless you're in a math-based line of work you have probably relied on a calculator your whole adult life.  We're the pros in explaining the math, so you're only doing the right thing to leave it to us.
