ACT Tutoring

SAT Tutor

Universities have been relying on ACT scores to decide who gets in and who doesn't for over 60 years now and all US universities accept ACT scores as the standard admissions approach. Which makes ACT (American College Testing) the gold standard notably in its four areas of knowledge; math, English, reading, and science reasoning as well as the optional direct writing test. Having a tried and trusted testing system should make the whole process that much more straightforward for university and college applicants, and yet the ACT still makes many students nervous and is seen as a stumbling block. It's not. And if you've had problems preparing for the ACT in the past we can reassure you that it is simply a matter of the right approach. Here at Aventura Tutoring, we are specialists in identifying your problems and concerns with the ACT, then tailoring our tutoring to ensure that you pass with the level that you want to achieve your goals and improve your prospects.

ACT vs SAT

There's a lot of confusion about ACT vs SAT but the key differences are that ACT includes a science section, it's computer-based, and it has 24 testing opportunities per year as opposed to the 6 of SAT. Which is one of the reasons why it is popular as those options translate to more flexibility for us to tailor the tutoring to ensure you get the grade you need?

The Best Tutors

We take enormous pride in finding the right tutors for the job as we strongly believe that a good tutor needs not only a proven background of academic success but a natural ability to teach. On top of that, we add our own particular skill in identifying the problems with ACT and in teaching techniques that are all but guaranteed to lead to the grades you need.

The Best Scores

With our ACT tutoring, you don't just get great tutors (though you certainly do get those) you also get the experience and understanding that has assessed exactly why students fail to get the grades they could.  We can see where students are underperforming due to key mistakes such as over-reliance on memorizing information (more common than you think), misunderstanding questions, or not choosing the most efficient way of solving the question. We'll work to understand where an individual is weakest and teach the technique as well as the knowledge that ensures those top grades.  Our analysis is just the beginning of an approach that tailors tutoring to suit individual needs and matches up candidates with the right tutor to get them where they want to go.

Optional Writing Test

The writing test is optional and fewer than half of the colleges require it but for those that request it, and even for some of those that don't we have seen that it can be a decider.  Let us help you find out if it is in your interest to opt for the writing test and if so let us teach you to write essays that tick the boxes that make the assessing readers give out those precious grades.
